Allen trash & recycling schedule

When

Carts, weekly yard waste, and monthly bulk out by 7 a.m.

Where

Cart front facing the street, handle toward the home; 2 ft from cars, fences, gas meters and other objects; yard waste ≥2 ft from trash/recycle carts

Limits

Bulk is for large items under 150 lb each, not extra bags or boxes; no extra trash on top of or beside carts; weekly yard waste up to 7 brush bundles and 15 paper bags; monthly loose brush up to 3 cubic yards (call to schedule)

Brush

Weekly: brush in 4 ft × 2 ft bundles under 40 lb, tied with biodegradable cotton/jute rope, twine, or string (no nylon); leaves/grass in biodegradable paper lawn bags only (no plastic). Monthly loose brush on your assigned Wednesday: call CWD 972-392-9300 option 2 by noon the day before. Natural Christmas trees: cut into 4-ft sections (after 2nd Friday of January per holiday page also noted bundling ≤40 lb)

Not allowed

Bulk not accepted: car parts, construction/demo/remodel waste, dead animals over 10 lb, extra household trash bags/boxes, fence materials, household chemicals, rugs/carpet larger than 6 ft in any dimension, tree limbs/trunks, yard trimmings, kitchen sinks. Yard waste not accepted: dirt, gravel, concrete, rock, sod, flocked/artificial Christmas trees, contractor debris. Recycling not accepted: plastic bags/foil, Styrofoam/#6, ceramics/drinking glasses/incandescent bulbs, pizza boxes/food-soiled paper, food waste/straws, alkaline batteries, broken household items, wire hangers, textiles

Bags

Bag all trash before it goes in the cart; recyclables loose (no bags); shredded paper in clear bags
